In second half of FY2020 SNAP enrollment increased dramatically due to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. While not reflected in the annual averages reported here, DHS performance oversight responses for that year break out the monthly average for the 6 months of the fiscal year that occurred prior to the COVID-19 pandemic's economic effects (October-March) and the 6 months that reflect those effects.
