Definition

Teen births by race-ethnicity is the number of births to teenagers ages 15 to 19 per 1,000 females in this age group. Data were reported by mother’s place of residence. The numerator for the rate calculation is the summation of the three-year time period. The denominator for the rate calculation is the summation of the population estimates for the same three-year time period.
