Definition

Number - estimated number of children who live in a household headed by their grandparent.

Percent - estimated number of children who live in a household headed by their grandparent per 100 children.

These data were derived from ACS table B09018.

Notes

These data include all children living in a grandparent-headed household, regardless of whether the grandparent is responsible for caring for the child. In the 2014-2018 time period, about 57% of children living in a grandparent-headed household in Louisiana were living with a grandparent who was responsible for caring for them. These data do not include children who live with their grandparents in households headed by a parent or another individual.

S - estimates are suppressed when the coefficient of variation is greater than 30 percentage points.
