Definition

Number of youth admitted into a youth detention facility, for select counties implementing Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI).

Minnehaha and Pennington counties began JDAI implementation in 2011.

Brown, Codington, and Davison counties began JDAI implementation in 2018.

Brookings county began JDAI implementation in 2020.

Yankton and Hughes counties began JDAI implementation in 2021.

Lincoln county began JDAI implementation in 2022.

Butte, Clay, Lawrence, and Meade counties began JDAI implementation in 2023.
