Definition

Child Deaths: number of deaths from all causes for children aged 5-17.

Average Annual Death Rate: Three-year aggregate number of deaths to children aged 5-17 per 10,000 children aged 5-17. Rates are based on mid-year population.

Data Source

Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics, Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.

Population Source:  National Center for Health Statistics, estimates from the Vintage postcensal series with an agreement with the U.S. Census Bureau.

Cause-specific death rates are based on small data bases; caution must be exercised when attempting to draw conclusions. It is recommended to show the number of deaths with the rate.
