This dataset contains financial and ESG-related metrics for companies during pre-pandemic, pandemic, and post-pandemic periods. The dataset aims to capture how epidemic risks, especially the COVID-19 pandemic, influenced corporate financing decisions and the role of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors in shaping these decisions.
It consists of data for 100 companies across various sectors and countries, tracking key financial indicators and ESG scores, before, during, and after the pandemic. The target variable represents whether the company made significant changes to its financing strategy due to the pandemic, such as raising capital, reducing dividends, or increasing debt levels.
Key Variables:
Company_ID: A unique identifier for each company.
Sector: The industry sector to which the company belongs (e.g., Tech, Finance, Healthcare).
Country: The country in which the company operates.
Stock_Price_Pre: The stock price of the company before the pandemic.
Stock_Price_Pandemic: The stock price of the company during the pandemic.
Stock_Price_Post: The stock price of the company after the pandemic.
Debt_to_Equity_Pre: The debt-to-equity ratio before the pandemic.
Debt_to_Equity_Pandemic: The debt-to-equity ratio during the pandemic.
Debt_to_Equity_Post: The debt-to-equity ratio after the pandemic.
ESG_Score_Pre: The Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) score of the company before the pandemic.
ESG_Score_Pandemic: The ESG score during the pandemic.
ESG_Score_Post: The ESG score after the pandemic.
Funding_Sources: The primary source(s) of funding used by the company (e.g., Debt, Equity, Government Support).
Dividends_Pre: The dividend payout of the company before the pandemic.
Dividends_Pandemic: The dividend payout during the pandemic.
Dividends_Post: The dividend payout after the pandemic.
Pandemic_Severity: The severity of the pandemic in terms of impact on the company (e.g., Low, Moderate, High).
Target: The target variable indicating whether significant financing changes were made during the pandemic (1 = Change, 0 = No Change).
Target Column:
Target (Binary): Indicates whether a company made significant changes to its financing decisions during the pandemic. A value of 1 represents significant changes in financing strategy (e.g., raising capital, reducing dividends), and 0 indicates no significant changes.
