About this dataset

This dataset contains valuable information about the health facilities of Pakistan. It was collected by the World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with their health partners during various emergencies, and has been provided with an innovative 3 word address for communication purposes on the ground. The data captures comprehensive details including province, district, tehsil, facility name and type, catchment area and coordinates from a range of sources.

With this versatile dataset comes a great responsibility; it is vital to note that not all health facilities in each district might have been assessed and included in this study. How to use the dataset

This dataset provides the location of health facilities in Pakistan and can be used for seeing the placement of health facilities across the country. This dataset provides details such as name, type, latitude, longitude, 3 word address and catchment area - providing useful insights into the availability of healthcare in Pakistan.

In order to make use of this dataset efficiently it is important to know a few basic things. Firstly you should understand what each column means in order to utilize them effectively. For example columns such as Province, District and Tehsil provide insights into where a particular facility is located geographically while Latitude and Longitude provide more precise information about its exact location on a map or image. The Health Facility Name column will tell you which specific organization owns or runs that particular facility while HF_Type gives insight into whether it is public or private etc. Lastly Catchment Area column tells you what population size this facility serves and 3 Word Address gives an easy way for anyone on ground to communicate the exact location of any given health facility quickly using natural language like instructions instead of having to take time out for providing longer more descriptive routes by roads etc.

Once you have understood each field's basic functions this dataset can then be used for numerous purposes such as mapping out the health care resources available across different provinces/districts/regions etc., identifying any gaps there could be in terms of lack or coverage amongst various population sizes vs healthcare delivery capacity existing at those locations etc., thus helping identify areas where help may be required in terms other than just financially but with appropriate physical infrastructure putting such facilities in place too if necessary

Research Ideas

Using the dataset to create a health facility locator app - This could be used to make it easier for people to find the location of nearby health facilities in their area, as well as get information about each facility.

Developing a data-driven report on the distribution of health centers for policy makers - This is an important insight when making policy decisions related to healthcare access and delivery. The report will provide an overview on where are health resources needed and can be implemented accordingly.

Creating location-based targeted campaigns by combining this dataset with Google Maps - Utilizing 3 word addresses combined with Google Maps, businesses or organizations can utilize location data and promote specific products, services or initiatives surrounding the listed health centers that may benefit locals living in those areas
