MotoGP Riders: Active Years Per Category

Context

This dataset shows the years in which they were active in each of the MotoGP World Championship classes, starting in 1949.

Sources

The source of this dataset is this Kaggle dataset (not owned by me). In this notebook, I show the steps that are made to create this dataset.

Inspiration

In this notebook that looks at the winning percentage of Marc Marquez at clockwise VS anticlockwise circuits, I wanted to know in which years he raced in which of the classes (125cc, Moto2 and MotoGP). To generalise this notebook to make it work for any rider, which I did here, a dataset that includes this data is required. Since I couldn't find one around, I made one myself.
