Books With Plot From Goodreads

The data was scraped from Goodreads' top books of all time from the following link Best Books Ever, and it's subsequent pages.

This dataset was created in conjunction with a dataset of popular video games and their plot/story summary. The idea behind obtaining these plot summaries was to build an NLP model that would input the video games that an individual enjoyed and give book recommendations based on the same.

Hopefully these book summaries can be useful to you in some way, especially if you're looking to create a recommender based on plot summaries matches (similarity), this link is a great way to get an introduction to this kind of Content-Based model of Recommender Systems, as well as an exploration of the idea of Collaborative Filtering that could be implemented if the system garners enough users.

While re-exploring this project, I have updated the dataset to be a little more explanatory, hope this helps. I may add a notebook at a later date to share my work on the recommender system idea, or link to a running app (should it be created), as a helpful resource!
