Pokémon Legends: Z-A & Gen 9 Extended Pokédex

Project Overview
This project is a comprehensive data engineering effort to merge the established Generation 9 (Paldean) Pokédex with emerging data from Pokémon Legends: Z-A. It serves as a living dataset and a Proof of Concept for predictive data modeling in gaming, specifically focusing on how new "Mega Evolved" Pokemon shift the competitive stat landscape.

The Objective: Bridging Generations
With the announcement of Legends: Z-A, as well as the confirmation of the newly added Megas abilities that are now available in Pokemon Champions, the competitive community is anticipating a massive shift in power dynamics. This dataset aims to provide a unified environment for researchers and players to:

Analyze the power creep between Gen 1-9 base stats and new Mega forms.

Model potential competitive tiers based on placeholder and confirmed ability data.

Evaluate type-distribution shifts with the reintroduction of Mega Evolutions.

Data Architecture & Methodology
The dataset is structured to support complex queries and machine learning applications:

Unified Stat Schema: Standardized HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and Speed across 1,000+ entries.

Cleaning Pipeline: Data was aggregated from multiple sources (PokeAPI, community leaks), cleaned using Python (Pandas), and validated for stat-total consistency (BST).

Data Dictionary Highlights
Total: The Base Stat Total (BST), used to measure a Pokémon's overall power level.

Type 1 / Type 2: Essential for elemental advantage analysis.

Placeholder Status: A critical column for analysts to filter out non-canonical data for official competitive modeling.

Use Cases & Analytics
This dataset is designed for:

Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Visualizing stat distributions across generations.

Competitive Simulation: Providing a backend for "Pokémon Champions" or other battle simulators.
