S&P 500 Firms' ESG Ratings And CEO Info | Nov 2023

This dataset was created so I can explore any relationships between female CEOs and ESG rating scores among S&P 500 firms. Do firms with female CEOs perform better or worse in ESG ratings than the average or those with male CEOs?

I used the latest available data, and any firms without ESG Ratings or ratings before 2022 were discarded. This led to a total of 426 firms being analysed and 77 firms being discarded.

I used Yahoo Finance as they provide the CEO info and also the latest ESG rating data from Sustainalytics.

This dataset may be useful for further expanding on research relating ESG rating to firm characteristics. For example industry, number of employees, diversity, assets or profitability.
