AB de Villiers is a former South African cricket captain who led the national side from 2012 to 2017. He was a right-handed batsman who achieved 47 hundreds (100 or more runs in a single innings) during his playing career, 22 in Tests and 25 in ODIs. In March 2012, he ascended to the top of the ICC Test batting rankings.

De Villiers appeared in 78 Twenty20 International matches between 2006 and 2017.His highest score of 79 not out came against Scotland in the 2009 ICC World Twenty20, which South Africa won by 130 runs. As of September 2019, de Villiers is ranked eighth all-time in international cricket for most hundreds (47).
