This Eurostat dataset contains data on number of enterprises and balance sheet total by residence of the parent enterprise (1997-2012), as collected and published by the Statistical Office of the European Union.

Tables included:

• raw: Original table as downloaded from Eurostat.
• tidy: A cleaned and transformed version of the raw table, where time period values appear as rows instead of columns (unpivoted format).
