This Eurostat dataset contains data on main reasons for retirement or early retirement - by sex and main labour status just after leaving last job (1 000), as collected and published by the Statistical Office of the European Union.

Tables included:

• raw: Original table as downloaded from Eurostat.
• tidy: A cleaned and transformed version of the raw table, where time period values appear as rows instead of columns (unpivoted format).
