This Eurostat dataset contains data on foreign control of enterprises: research and development characteristics by economic activity (nace rev. 2, b-f) and a selection of controlling countries (2009-2019), as collected and published by the Statistical Office of the European Union.

Tables included:

• raw: Original table as downloaded from Eurostat.
• tidy: A cleaned and transformed version of the raw table, where time period values appear as rows instead of columns (unpivoted format).
