This is the underlying dataset for HepTracker, which is an interactive dashboard and allows for the timely release of viral hepatitis data. HepTracker provides users the ability to view national case surveillance and viral hepatitis–related mortality data for hepatitis A, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C. Data available on the dashboard are from CDC’s National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System (NNDSS) (https://www.cdc.gov/nndss/about/index.html) and the National Vital Statistics System (NVSS)(https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/index.htm). The dataset includes counts and rates for cases and deaths across multiple years, stratified by jurisdiction, race and ethnicity, age groups, and sex. Risk and exposure information is available for acute infections only. These data are important for understanding viral hepatitis trends, informing and developing effective public health programs, and monitoring progress toward eliminating viral hepatitis as a public health threat in the United States. For more information about these data, please see Technical Notes.
