Dataset Description

This section of the Burden Toolkit reports the economic burden of diabetes in your state and consists of medical (direct) costs, indirect costs, and costs from the perspective of State Medicaid Programs, private insurers, and employers.

Data Sources: 2014 and 2021 National Health Expenditure Accounts (NHEA) from CMS. 2014 State Health Expenditure Accounts (SHEA) from CMS. 2022 Current Population Survey. 2021 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey (BRFSS). 2015-2019 Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS). 2013-2021 National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), 2022. 2021 CDC Wonder.
