Dataset Description

This Children and Family Services dataset provides an overview of the number of children and youth receiving child intervention services by type of care and by age group. Child intervention services are focused on the well-being of children, supporting families to be healthy and ensuring children grow up in safe and nurturing homes.   The data shows the average monthly number of children and youth in the province who are receiving child intervention services. More specifically, it shows the number in temporary care, permanent care and receiving services while at home (not in care) with historical information dating back ten years.   There is a further breakdown by the number of children served by age group: 0-5, 6-12, 13-15 and 16-17 years old. Information is available through the links listed below as aggregate data in excel, as visualizations in CI Interactive Data Tool and as descriptions of data fields and elements in the Data Dictionary.
