Alberta Precipitation Quality Monitoring Program (APQMP)

Precipitation samples are collected at a number of sites in Alberta by Alberta Environment and Parks. Samples are analyzed for select cations and anions as well as pH. Samples are collected weekly using an event-only precipitation sampling protocol. The specific monitoring objectives are to: (1) monitor the concentration of cations and anions in precipitation; and (2) detect any significant trends in the monitored concentrations.
