Number Of Alternative Dispute Resolution Processes That Result In Settlement Agreements Agreed To By Both Parties

The Office of the Procurement Ombud (OPO) receives complaints related to procurement activity with the Government of Canada. The information in this dataset records how often these complaints can be resolved via an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) process.

Sub-section 22.1(3)(d) of the Department of Public Works and Government Services Act requires the Procurement Ombud to provide an ADR process within 10 working days of the receipt of a request meeting all Regulatory requirements. In instances where both parties agree to participate, through the provision of such ADR services, the process results in a settlement agreement between the parties. This dataset only includes Disputes that have been closed – any disputes that are still in the process of being resolved will be included under future fiscal years once concluded.
