In particular, the CNESST is responsible for applying the Act on Labour Standards (LNT). This law aims to regulate working conditions in Quebec and applies to all workers, regardless of where they perform their work. The CNESST monitors the implementation and application of labor standards.

A worker who believes that their employer is not complying with one of the conditions provided for by the LNT may file a complaint (request) with the CNESST:

  • linked to salary or other planned amounts (pecuniary)
  • for prohibited practice
  • for dismissal without just and sufficient cause
  • for psychological or sexual harassment
  • administrative
  • for disparity in working conditions

A “complaint file” is called a “processed appeal” when its processing is finalized.

In order to ensure respect for privacy and the protection of personal information, requests and remedies processed are listed using an anonymous numerical identifier, created for the dataset.
