Dataset Description
We synthesized 19 years of Sage Thrasher occurrence and related habitat data across the species' northern range in British Columbia (BC) and Washington (WA) to define critical habitat characteristics. We combined this field-derived (local-scale) data with GIS-derived (landscape-scale) data into spatial regression models. The Sage Thrasher suitable habitat spatial model provides the landscape-scale covariate linked to Sage Thrasher breeding habitat. This dataset includes output of this GIS model that was used as covariate input for spatial regression models. The statistical models provided the critical habitat features influencing territory location for Sage Thrashers across the region, and a prediction of suitable future areas (e.g. under climate change) of higher occurrence and therefore conservation interest in British Columbia.
