Retail Sales Of Pesticides Covered By An Agronomic Prescription In Quebec

Holders of a permit for the retail sale of pesticides (sub-category B1) must report, no later than January 31 of each year, certain information relating to sales they made during the previous year (Regulation respecting permits and certificates for the sale and use of pesticides, section 55.1). The pesticides declared are subject to an agronomic prescription, namely those in class 3A (seeds of certain crops coated with neonicotinoids) and those containing atrazine, chlorpyrifos, clothianidin, clothianidin, imidacloprid or thiamethoxam.

Retail is defined as selling for the purpose of use, that is, the customer uses the pesticide. A subcategory B1 permit is issued to a company that sells or offers retail sales of class 1 to 3A pesticides.

The file indicates the commercial name of the product and its registration number, the name of the active ingredient contained in the product and its concentration, the quantity sold during the year in question as well as the administrative region of the customer's home.
